Several are working together to bring this conference to fruition.

Tom Oord
Tom Oord is a theology professor at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho.  He will be helping us develop our theme.

Tom is an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene.  He has taught at Africa Nazarene University, Azusa Pacific University, Eastern Nazarene College, Harvard Divinity School, and Wesley Theological Seminary. He currently teaches in the School of Theology and Christian Ministries at Northwest Nazarene University.

He is an active Naznetter, particularly on the Photography and Theology Forums.

Mike Schutz
Mike Schutz is the senior pastor at the Avon Grove Church of the Nazarene in West Grove, Pennsylvania. He will lead us each day in a time of devotion.  Before pastoring, Mike served as Chaplain, Director of the Center for Spiritual Development and Associate Professor at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA. At Eastern Nazarene he directed the college’s many spiritual life programs, including: traditional and contemporary worship services, Bible studies and discipleship groups, missions trips to Central and South America and Europe, student ministry teams, and campus and community ministry. His teaching responsibilities included courses in Christianity and contemporary culture, spiritual formation, youth ministry, and marriage and family life.

He has spoken throughout the United States and Europe on issues of young adult spiritual formation and faith development, postmodernism, parenting, and healthy marriage and family life. Rev. Schutz was the founding director of the Brickley Counseling Center on the campus of Eastern Nazarene College, and has over 25 years experience as a pastoral counselor. During his ministry career, Mike has been active in numerous cross-denominational ministry efforts, working with Protestant and Catholic believers to share God's love and grace, and to promote biblical principles of evangelism, peace, and social justice.

Mike is also an active Naznetter.


Hans Deventer
Hans Deventer is a Naznet moderator from Dordrecht, the Netherlands, and our fearless leader. The idea of this conference originated with him.

Hans is a leader in the Church of the Nazarene on the Netherlands District, currently on the District Advisory Board and serving in the past in such capacities as District Secretary and Delegate to the General Assembly.
