Why a Naznet Conference?
Sanctification is one of the watch-words of the Church of the Nazarene.  As most know, our understanding of sanctification has been in molding form for quite a while.  Our goal is to work with the participants, with Dr. Thomas Jay Oord as our coach, towards a couple of statements that would be building blocks/images for teaching and living holiness and entire sanctification in the 21st century.

We're not aiming at rewriting Article X per se, or having it adopted by the General Assembly. But we do want to give the participants something tangible and helpful to take home from the conference.

We will ask people to submit their thoughts in advance on subjects that through the conference would need to issue into one of those statements, in order to give us some kind of head start.

This will be very much a "working conference". Which means that Dr. Oord won't be lecturing all that much, but will mainly in charge of leading the discussions and the entire process that would lead to those statements/images.

We'll probably have some time off during Friday and/or Saturday.
We plan to have devotionals and communion every day, led by Dr. Mike Schutz.

"In a recent discussion (we keep thinking about this!) the goal was formulated as follows:

We want to find a way to talk about those experiences of God's sanctifying grace within a relational paradigm that makes sense to 21st century people and makes them want to reach out for God's purpose with and in their lives."

More details will be posted as we figure them out!
